Use of carbendazim

Carbendazim is one of the most widely used **fungicides**, commonly known as "cotton atrophy." It is a broad-spectrum fungicide that effectively controls various fungal diseases in crops. Below are detailed application guidelines for different agricultural uses: 1. **Wheat Scab Control**: Apply the first spray at the beginning of flowering, followed by a second spray 5–7 days later. Use 25% Carbendazim WP at 3000 g per hectare, 40% WP at 1875 g, 50% WP at 1500 g, or 80% WP at 937.5 g (equivalent to 750 g active ingredient). Alternatively, use 937.5 g of 40% suspension (375 g active ingredient) mixed with 750 liters of water and apply evenly. 2. **Rice Blast Prevention (Leaf Blast)**: Spray when symptoms appear or acute lesions develop. Apply once every 7 days. For rice blast control, spray during the tillering and heading stages. Use 25% WP at 3000 g/ha, 40% WP at 1875 g, 50% WP at 1500 g, or 80% WP at 937.5 g (750 g active ingredient). Alternatively, use 937.5 g of 40% suspension (375 g active ingredient) in 1050 liters of water and spray thoroughly. 3. **Rice Sheath Blight Control**: Apply at the onset of disease or during the ear-forming to booting stage. Spray once every 7 days. Use the same dosages as above, and focus on spraying the base of the rice plants. You can also use 937.5 g of 93% suspension (375 g active ingredient) in 1050 liters of water. 4. **Cotton Seedling Disease Prevention**: Treat seeds with 25% WP at 2000 g per 100 kg of seed, 40% WP at 1250 g, 50% WP at 1000 g, or 80% WP at 625 g (500 g active ingredient). Alternatively, soak seeds in a solution of 750 g (300 g active ingredient) of 40% suspension in 40 liters of water for 24 hours before planting. 5. **Sclerotinia sclerotiorum Control (Rapeseed)**: Spray during the flowering and final flowering stages. Dosages vary: 25% WP at 4500–6800 g/ha, 40% WP at 2812.5–4250 g, 50% WP at 2250–3400 g, 80% WP at 1406.25–2125 g (active ingredients 1125–1700 g), or 40% suspension at 2812.5–3750 g (active ingredients 1125–1500 g). Mix with 1050 liters of water and spray evenly. 6. **Peanut Diseases (Blight, Stem Rot, Root Rot)**: Before planting, treat seeds with 25% WP at 1000–2000 g per 100 kg of seeds, 40% WP at 625–1250 g, 50% WP at 500–1000 g, or 80% WP at 312.5–625 g (250–500 g active ingredient). Soak seeds in a solution of 750 g (300 g active ingredient) of 40% suspension in 40 liters of water for 24 hours before planting. 7. **Pear Black Spot Disease Prevention**: Spray at the bud break stage, then again after flowering. Repeat every 7–10 days, usually 3–4 times. Use 25% WP diluted 250–500 times, 40% WP 400–800 times, 50% WP 500–1000 times, 80% WP 800–1600 times, or 40% suspension at 400–800 times. 8. **Acne Prawn Control (Peach Bag Disease)**: Spray once before the peach bag stage and repeat every 7–10 days. Follow the same concentration as for pear scab. 9. **Apple Brown Spot Disease Prevention**: Begin spraying at the first sign of disease, and repeat every 7–10 days. Adjust the number of sprays based on disease progression. Refer to the method used for pear black spot. 10. **Grape White Rot and Black Poxy Control**: Spray from leaf expansion until fruit color change, repeating every 10–15 days. Use the same concentration as for pear black spot. 11. **Sugar Beet Brown Spot Disease Control**: Begin spraying at the first sign of disease, and repeat every 7–10 days for 2–3 applications. Use 1800–3600 g of 40% suspension (720–1440 g active ingredient) in 900 liters of water and spray evenly. **Poisoning Symptoms**: After exposure, symptoms may include dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and other gastrointestinal issues. **First Aid Measures**: Induce vomiting if possible, perform gastric lavage, and administer atropine. Subcutaneous injection of 1–2 mg of atropine, or intramuscular/ oral dose of 0.4–0.6 mg every 4–6 hours until symptoms subside. Carbendazim should be handled with care, following all safety precautions and local regulations. Always wear protective clothing and avoid contact with skin or eyes. Store in a cool, dry place away from food and water sources.
