Spring has finally arrived, and like many of us, I've been thinking about how to bring some color into my home. That’s when I came across this fantastic project where a local florist collaborated with a brand to create stunning floral arrangements using their plant pots. It was such a creative idea that I couldn’t help but dive deeper into it.
The collaboration happened between the brand and Avril, a gifted florist and gardener with a keen sense of design. She worked her magic at her studio in Shropshire, carefully selecting elements to match the unique shapes and finishes of each pot. Her work really highlights the potential of these planters as both practical and decorative pieces. If you're interested in checking out her work, you can find her on Instagram @foodfriendsflowers or visit her website.
One of the first pots they worked with was the Marine 316 Stainless Steel Newlyn pot. To emphasize its symmetrical form and tapered base, Avril filled it with tall, slender Narcissus flowers surrounded by textured green fir. The shades of green and pale yellow she chose complemented the cool tones of the Satin and Polished Marine 316 Stainless Steel beautifully.
When it came to the Hepworth pots, especially the larger ones, Avril went for bolder choices. In the 28cm Satin Stainless Steel Hepworth pot, she placed a deep green Camellia plant with vibrant pink blooms. This contrast worked exceptionally well with the matte finish of the pot. For the smaller Hepworth pots, she mixed purple and white Hyacinths and topped them off with a layer of moss to keep everything neat and tidy. These colors harmonized wonderfully with the Polished Stainless Steel Hepworth pots, which reflect their environment in a striking way.
Moving on to the Flora pots, which come in Smooth Brass, Copper, and Nickel finishes, Avril played around with different styles. For the Smooth Copper Flora pot, she used bright and bold florals to enhance the warm undertones of the copper. This gave the arrangement a lively and cheerful vibe, making any space feel more inviting.
For the Flora vases, she experimented with cascading bouquets that flowed over the scalloped edges. In the slimmer versions, she tried out long, curved branches combined with pearlescent seed pods. The iridescent nature of the pods paired with the shine of the Smooth Brass vase made for a captivating centerpiece that could transform any room.
I also loved how she styled the large Marine Stainless Steel Flora pots. By intertwining giant dried seed pods with delicate purple flowers, she crafted an impressive display that looked even better sitting in the Satin Stainless Steel Flora pot.
This entire project was a joy to see unfold, and the results are nothing short of amazing! If you're looking to elevate your living space with some beautiful planters, definitely explore their full collection. There’s so much inspiration to be found in their designs, whether you're into sleek metals or richly textured florals.
