The development and application of plastic gears in the gear industry is maturing

Plastic gears offer numerous advantages, including low transmission noise, excellent vibration absorption, self-lubrication properties, and high efficiency in mold processing. In recent years, the use of plastic gears in the gear industry has been growing rapidly, becoming a global trend. However, despite this progress, China still faces challenges in producing high-end plastic gear molds. Currently, medium and low-precision gear molds can be manufactured domestically, but advanced, high-precision molds are largely imported. There are not many specialized factories focused solely on gear mold production in China, with most of them being handled by general gear manufacturing companies. This lack of specialization limits the overall development of the industry. On the other hand, the demand for plastic gear molds is increasing significantly, indicating a vast market potential that remains untapped. Industry experts have proposed three key strategies for future development. First, it is essential to accelerate the adjustment of the industrial structure. The gear mold industry must focus more on developing high-end molds with complex designs and high precision. At the same time, the industry should closely align with market demands to ensure continuous innovation and product upgrades. Without real market needs, there will be no technological advancement or growth in the quality and scale of mold products. The level of mold technology directly influences the quality, efficiency, and innovation capacity of new products. Second, the implementation of industry standards must be accelerated. Currently, there are no clear national or industry-wide standards for gear mold processing, especially in the field of plastic gear molds. Technical standards are often too open, and product specifications are difficult to define. It is also challenging to establish experimental standards, accuracy benchmarks, and testing equipment standards for gear molds. Third, enhancing collaboration across industries is crucial. Modern industrial development relies heavily on cooperation, and the gear mold industry is no exception. This includes direct collaboration in research and development. For example, universities and gear manufacturers can work together to study gear mold technologies, focusing on process equipment and internal deformation laws of plastic materials. Furthermore, from an industry-wide perspective, the gear mold sector is still in a relatively fragmented state. Establishing professional associations can help address this issue by facilitating discussions and solving challenges related to small modulus gear production, thus promoting the growth of the domestic precision gear mold industry. In summary, while the plastic gear industry is showing strong growth, China's response to market changes remains limited, and supporting research struggles to keep up with demand. Domestic precision gear molds still need to catch up with global standards to fully realize their potential.

Electric Actuator

An electric actuator is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical motion. It is used to control the movement of various mechanical systems, such as valves, dampers, and other industrial equipment. Electric actuators are commonly used in industrial applications where precise positioning, speed control, and high accuracy are required. They are also used in the automotive industry, aerospace industry, and medical equipment. Electric actuators are available in different types, including linear actuators, rotary actuators, and multi-axis actuators. They can be powered by AC or DC power sources and can be controlled by various types of controllers, such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
