Global Natural Rubber Production Increased by 3.2% in 2012

Sinochem New Network Natural Rubber Producing Countries Association (ANRPC) recently said that in 2012 global natural rubber production is expected to increase by 3.2% due to an increase in rubber production in Vietnam.

ANRPC expects rubber production in 2012 to be 10.45 million tons, which is higher than last year's 101.27 million tons, and slightly higher than the 104.15 million tons estimated earlier.

The association said in the report that the global rubber production is expected to increase as Vietnam's 2012 natural rubber production is expected to increase to 845,000 tons, compared with 812,000 tons last year.

The export volume of ANRPC member countries in 2012 is estimated to be 7.892 million tons, which is higher than the 7.685 million tons estimated in 2011, and the consumption of member countries this year will increase by 2.5% to 6.290 million tons.

ANRPC Member States - China is the world's largest consumer of rubber. In 2012, it is expected to consume 3.61 million tons of rubber, an increase of 3.0% over 2011.

ANRPC member countries include Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Sri Lanka; its rubber production accounts for more than 90% of global production and exports.

Spot rubber prices have risen by more than 19% last month, as the top-producing country-Thai government approved a budget plan of 15 billion baht (US$474 million) to buy rubber from farmers at a price of 120 baht per kg. Raise the price.
