High-performance magnesium/aluminum high-quality casting preparation technology project annual work conference held in Beijing

From July 6th to July 7th, 2017, the national key research and development program "Key base material technology improvement and industrialization" key special project "High-performance magnesium/aluminum alloy high-quality casting preparation technology" project annual work conference was held in Beijing. The person in charge of each subject and the person in charge of the sub-project also introduced their respective work progress, existing problems, and work arrangements for the next phase. Experts of the special experts and project consulting groups fully affirmed the progress made in the project, and put forward opinions and suggestions on the implementation of the mission statement, the frontier of international development, and financial management.

On the morning of the second session of the session, the topics were discussed in groups, and full communication was conducted around specific technical issues and problems faced, and the research tasks and work arrangements were further clarified. In the afternoon, the delegates went to the Beijing Non-ferrous Metal Research Institute to visit the test site, so that everyone had a deeper understanding of semi-solid forming.

This project is the first batch of national key R&D projects established in 2016. It uses light-weight automotive components as the carrier for research and development. Through the improvement of the performance of existing materials and the significant innovation of the process, the key automotive structure is built after the equipment curing technology. The ability to automate integrated design, manufacturing, and application verification will form industrial applications for demonstration parts and is expected to lead the world.

One year after the project was launched, the solidification mechanism of die-cast magnesium/aluminum alloy was obtained, and the design guidelines for high-performance die-cast magnesium/aluminum alloys with low alloying and nucleation-based control were formed. Initially completed the integrated design of 7 products including magnesium alloy shock absorber towers, magnesium alloy engine blocks, magnesium alloy subframes, aluminum alloy control arms, aluminum alloy suspension brackets, aluminum alloy steering knuckles, and aluminum alloy bearing covers; Completed the die design and manufacture of five kinds of semi-solid die-casting products such as brake calipers and air chamber brackets and realized die casting of products; successfully prepared the world's first die casting magnesium alloy V6 cylinder prototype; published 19 papers, applied for a national Of the 12 patents for inventions, the research tasks for the first year were successfully completed.

The convening of the conference effectively promoted the communication and exchange among the participants of the project, coordinated the progress of research and development, effectively promoted the overall progress of the project, and laid a good foundation for the successful completion of the project task.
