Many users do not know much about the use of explosion-proof motors, let alone voltage, so what should we do when the explosion-proof motors we buy do not match the voltage used on site? The voltage of explosion-proof motors can be changed by the following two methods:

1. The voltage of the winding is not changed, only to change the original rated voltage to lower. The specific methods are as follows:

1. Change the number of parallel paths:

a. Change the motor voltage when the three-phase winding is completely symmetrical: for example, when changing the 6kv, 1Y explosion-proof motor to 3kv, change 1Y to 2Y. Since the number of conductors connected in series per phase is also halved with 2 roads, Φ remains unchanged.

b. Change the voltage when the three-phase winding is basically symmetrical: for example, change the 3kv motor with 4 poles, 72 slots to the stator, and 1Y connection to 380v. At this time, the voltage should be reduced by 3000/380 = 7.89≈8 times, break the tradition of 4 pole explosion-proof motor can only be connected to 4 way, open the end wiring, and force it into 8 way to keep the Φ value basically unchanged.

When changing the wiring, pay attention to it and be very careful. With the aid of the potential star chart, the amplitude of the combined potential of each phase is as equal as possible, and the difference between the phase angles of the three phases is as close to 120 ° as possible.

2. Change the stator winding connection method: if 660v is changed to 380v, 10kv is changed to 6kv; if it is changed to Y connection, Y connection should be changed to â–³ connection. Before the modification, the explosion-proof motor has been connected to â–³ and changed in the opposite direction-from low voltage to high voltage, but the insulation of the lead wire should conform to the modified voltage of 10kv or 660v.

Second, the winding is removed to change the voltage of the explosion-proof motor

This is usually the case of changing the original low pressure to high pressure. This should be based on the given core, as described above with wire. When changing the pressure, pay attention to the change of the power of the sentence. Except that the winding is removed from the original high voltage to low voltage, or only the Y connection is changed and the delta connection power is not affected, the power of the other cases of changing the high voltage should be reduced. Because after changing to high voltage, the structure of the insulating part needs to be thickened, the heat dissipation will be worse, and if J1 is reduced, the power will also be reduced.
