The conditions of the base layer not only have an important influence on the appearance of the installation but also relate to the life and durability of the floor. Therefore, the base should be kept dry, strong, rigid, smooth, flat, clean and free of dust and grease.
1. Concrete base layer: The new cast and cast-in-place concrete base should meet the standards for installing pvc flooring. The design of the base should meet the design strength requirements for the static load and dynamic load of the building. The concrete base must be sturdy and completely dry, and the surface should be smooth, dense, flat, free from irregularities, cracks, and trace defects.
If there is a damp foundation beneath the concrete base, the floor must be provided with a moisture barrier to prevent moisture infiltration. Moisture-reducing additives and curing agents cannot replace moisture barriers. Every 25 mm thick fresh concrete base should have a drying period of at least one month. 2. Wood base: All wood bases must be installed with a convection ventilation layer of at least 450 mm to prevent distortion of the floor and excessive deformation of the base. The newly installed wooden base should be sturdy and composed of dried wood without excessive squeezing or warping.
All loose boards of the original wooden base should be re-clamped and the heavily worn or damaged boards must be replaced. If necessary, the floor can be polished so that it does not undulate. Or use a composite splint or an approved fiber cement concrete floor leveling layer to cover the base layer. The leveling material must be 75 mm around the edges of the board, 10 mm margins, and 100 mm to 150 mm depth through the board.
3. Old pvc floor and rubber floor base: It is recommended to remove the existing pvc floor and rubber floor. If this cannot be done, implement appropriate and sufficient measures to ensure that the old floor can meet the standards for installing new flooring.
The existing pvc floor and rubber floor must be smooth (no deformation or bulging, will not affect the post-installation effect), integrity, firm bonding and proper installation on the recommended substrate. The existing pvc floor and rubber floor surface can not have any signs of adhesion, moisture, alkali salt or hydrostatic pressure, completely remove the wax water and other coatings on existing materials, and dents and damaged areas should be replaced or repaired. Installation on existing pvc flooring and rubber flooring will reduce the surface pressure resistance.
Note: Existing pvc floors and rubber floors may contain asbestos that are not easily identified. The specification may require that the material be tested for asbestos content. The installer should ensure that the method of operation is safe, does not pose a health risk, and meets all legal requirements.
When installing on existing pvc flooring and rubber flooring, flooring adhesives may require more open time to avoid blistering.
4. Expansion joints: It is recommended that pvc floors do not cover expansion joints. Expansion joints should be added pvc floor expansion joint cover strip.


Three laying pvc flooring working conditions

Basic requirements: The base layer of pvc flooring should be smooth, dry, strong, free of dust and dirt. The construction steps mainly focus on five words:

1. Before laying the floor, pvc floors should be laid out for at least 24 hours in a construction site with an ambient temperature of 18°C ​​or more to remove the stress in the materials.
2. The first thing to do is to prepare the construction tools: Check the operation and power usage of the main machinery and equipment, and arrange the construction Power Supply and water source. Import tools should not be mixed with other power tools using a wiring board, and must be equipped with regulators and power protection devices. 4. Check the construction environment: Before laying the floor, check the temperature at the construction site. The temperature in the construction room should not be less than 18°C. The relative humidity of the air should not exceed 75%. Keep adequate ventilation in the work area and do not cause contaminants to enter other parts of the building.
5. Placement material: Before construction, pvc coil floor must be laid flat on the flat ground. After it is restored to flat and loses material stress, it is placed in the room to be coated with adhesive. Reasonably arrange the cutting area to ensure that the cutting area is free of dust and sand. Transport transporting coils are used for special transportation tools. Damaged floors generated during transport handling should be cut off with plastic trimmers before being opened.
