The DirecTV-14 satellite is the seventh satellite launched by Ariane for the US Live TV company. It is manufactured by Laura Space Systems of the United States and weighs about 6.3 tons. It carries 16 Ka-band transponders and 18 reverse-band transponders. It will be used to provide HD and 4K Ultra HD live TV services to users in North America including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The expected working life is 15 years.
Designed and manufactured by the Indian Space Research Organization, GSAT-16 is the 18th satellite launched by Ariane for the agency. It weighs about 3.2 tons and can provide Ku and C-band services for providing a variety of services to the entire Indian subcontinent. Communication service, expected to have a working life of 12 years.
