Recently, a reporter learned from the Jiuzhaigou County Environmental Protection Bureau that the province's first solar-powered micro-sewage treatment pilot project has been completed in Majia Township and is now officially entering the trial operation phase. This innovative initiative marks a significant step forward in addressing environmental challenges in remote rural areas.
Over the past few years, local grassroots units have faced financial constraints, making it difficult to secure funding for infrastructure development in remote villages. As a result, environmental facilities have lagged behind, leading to untreated domestic sewage polluting surface water sources. To address this issue and explore a new model for managing sewage in isolated communities, the project was selected under the guidance of the provincial environmental protection department. With strong financial backing and expert technical support, the pilot site was established in Shengnan New Village, Majia Township.
After nearly five months of construction, the entire project has been successfully completed. The pilot project has a total investment of approximately 400,000 yuan. Its design includes inlet grille wells, anaerobic tanks, anoxic tanks, sedimentation tanks, and wetland pools. Domestic sewage is first collected and passes through the grid well, where large solids are filtered out. It then undergoes phosphorus removal in the anaerobic tank, followed by nitrogen removal in the aerobic and anoxic tanks. Finally, the treated water enters the solar-powered aerobic reaction pool, where photovoltaic panels provide energy to facilitate the process. This advanced system ensures that the treated wastewater meets national emission standards.
This project not only improves local environmental conditions but also serves as a sustainable model for other remote areas facing similar challenges. (Reporters: Liu Yanrong, Wang Qian, Li Jingzhi)
