Analysis and discussion

The mildew on the plastic plating parts is formed by the adhesion of the mildew microorganisms. The source of the mildew microorganisms, the survival conditions, and the stage and place of effective adhesion to the plated parts are the key to discussing the cause of the mildew and the prevention method.

The high temperature and humidity in the south of summer is the time for microbial activity. Raw materials, water, personnel, dust, etc. entering the electroplating workshop may bring in mildew microorganisms and their spores, while the mildew microorganisms have sufficient moisture (humidity), even other nitrogen compounds, carbon compounds, minerals and vitamins. It can grow when there are few substances; even if there is no external nutrients at all, as long as the conditions such as humidity, temperature, and pH are appropriate, the mold spores can develop to a certain extent by the nutrients stored by themselves.

It can be known from the above process: electroless nickel plating tank, water washing tank after electroless nickel plating, water washing tank after bright chrome plating, insufficient drying products, gloves for inspection and packaging workers, packaging and storage supplies, etc. Adhering to important places and stages, once the moldy microorganisms or their spores exist and survive in these places, it will cause mildew on the plated parts.

Prevention method

According to the above discussion, the key to preventing mildew of plastic plating parts is to control the source of mildew microorganisms, minimize the chance of contact with the products, and sterilize them at the stage and place where they are effectively adhered, so as to eliminate mold microorganisms as much as possible. Survival conditions. The following specific measures can be taken in actual production:

(1) Pay attention to the ventilation, dust removal and sterilization of the workshop and warehouse, and reduce or eliminate the source of microbial contamination as much as possible.

(2) Keep the raw materials clean and hygienic. For example, the sodium citrate solution for electroless nickel plating should be heated to about 80 ° C for sterilization after the addition.

(3) The water used should be sterilized. The ion exchange resin in the water treatment device should be cleaned regularly with formaldehyde or ethanol; after chemical nickel plating, the appropriate amount of formaldehyde should be added to the washing tank every day, and ethanol should be applied to each cylinder; the water for washing after bright chrome plating must be ultraviolet light. The lamp is sterilized by irradiation.

(4) The temperature and time for the plating of the electroplated parts must be sufficient. It is absolutely forbidden to have water on the workpiece after baking.

(5) White gauze gloves for inspection and packaging workers must be dry and clean, and plastic film gloves should be worn inside.

(6) Packaging supplies should be clean and dry, and desiccant and anti-mold agent can be placed in the package.

(7) The electroplated parts should not be placed in the high temperature and high humidity workshop for too long, and the packaging should be quickly moved into the warehouse.
