Cencorp uses conductive backplanes to produce its first photovoltaic module

Finnish industrial automation specialist Cencorp has recently introduced a conductive backplane as part of its strategy to develop its first photovoltaic (PV) module. This marks a significant step in the company’s technical roadmap aimed at supporting photovoltaic manufacturers with advanced solutions. The new PV module incorporates Cencorp's flexible circuit and laser drilling technologies, which were integrated onto an automated pilot line acquired from Sunweb Solar earlier this year. This setup allows for precise and efficient assembly, reinforcing Cencorp’s commitment to innovation in solar manufacturing. In a recent statement, Cencorp CEO Iikka Savisalo highlighted the progress: "Our first self-developed PV module is currently being produced on the Mikkeli automated pilot line, which we acquired from Sunweb Solar in January 2013 and have since further enhanced. The new component is primarily intended for testing and development purposes. According to our internal tests, the performance meets our expectations. We are aiming to launch the first commercial product by the end of 2013." This move underscores Cencorp's growing presence in the renewable energy sector and its ambition to provide cutting-edge solutions that improve efficiency and reliability in solar panel production. With ongoing research and development, the company is well-positioned to contribute to the global shift toward sustainable energy.
