Ministry of Environmental Protection: The air quality of 45 cities in Taiyuan exceeded the standard

International Energy Newsletter: The Ministry of Environmental Protection recently released the “State of Environmental Air Quality in Key Environmental Protection Cities in the First Half of 2011”. Among them, Beijing still belongs to the air quality third-grade city in the first half of this year, but it is inhalable particulate matter in the dioxide* and PM10. The year-on-year slight decrease. In the “Water Environment Quality Status of Key River Basins in the First Half of 2011” published by the Ministry of Environmental Protection in the same period, the overall water environment in key river basins in the country is still mildly polluted, among which the Haihe River is heavily polluted and the heavy metal exceeds the standard.

Air quality includes over 45 cities in Beijing According to the report of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, compared with the first half of last year, the average concentration of CO2 in 113 major environmental protection cities in China decreased by 2.2%, the average concentration of nitrogen dioxide increased by 5.7%, and the average concentration of respirable particles remained flat. .

Forty-five cities have exceeded the standard of air quality, accounting for 39.8%, including municipalities such as Beijing, Taiyuan, Tangshan, Anshan, Changchun, provincial capitals, and industrial cities. Among the key cities in the country, the worst air quality is Urumqi, which is “bad three levels”.

According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection’s announcement, the seven major river systems are the most polluted. In the first half of this year, the seven major river systems were generally lightly polluted. The Haihe River, the most polluted, was heavily polluted. The water quality of the Yangtze River and Pearl River is good, and the remaining rivers are moderately or slightly polluted.

The water quality of the Sanhekou of the Haihe River is obviously improved, but other major rivers are heavily polluted. In the Haihe River system related to Beijing, the water quality of the Yongding River is excellent, but the Northern Canal is also heavily polluted.

Large-scale reservoirs only include Thousand-island Lakes with Grade I water quality in key lakes, Taihu Lake and Chaohu Lake with mild eutrophication, and Dianchi Lake with moderate eutrophication. Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake are Class IV water quality, and Hongze Lake and Baiyang Lake are also in poor condition. They are Class V water quality. Among the large-scale reservoirs, only Qiandao Lake is Class I water quality, and Miyun Reservoir is Class II water quality.

Commenting on exhaust gas and thermal power plants affecting air quality, the director of the Public Environmental Research Center, Ma Jun, said that in the first half of this year, the air quality in Beijing looks a little better, but it is still exceeding the standard.

Beijing's air quality is affected mainly by two aspects, one is automobile exhaust, and the other is emissions from thermal power plants. Because of the continuous increase in automobile exhaust gas and the large amount of electricity used, the emission of nitrogen oxides is always high.

The emission control of vehicle exhaust is related to the changes in the traffic system. It is a certain degree of difficulty.

Heavy metal pollution rivers are still serious The director of the Public Environmental Research Center Ma Jun introduced that the pollution problem of the Haihe River has been further exacerbated in the past decade. In contrast, the governance of the Huaihe River has improved after shutting down some small businesses.

The serious pollution of the Haihe River is also related to its low water content. The discharge of rivers in other places is at a very high level. It is only diluted due to the excess water, so we cannot think that only the Haihe River is serious, and its realization in China is large. Some rivers are heavily polluted.

Heavy metal pollution is relatively new. Since a series of heavy metal poisonings occurred in 2009, the government has attached great importance to this. The so-called “manganese triangle” has been undergoing governance for five or six years, but now it is still seen that even after the government is shut down, it is still a serious problem.
