21 large-scale mineral deposits discovered during the 11th five-year period in Guizhou

In the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period in Guizhou Province, where mineral resources were abundant, more efforts were made in geological exploration. A total of 21 large-scale mineral deposits were discovered.

The reporter learned from the Department of Land and Resources of Guizhou Province that the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” for Guizhou invested a total of 2.67 billion yuan in geological exploration funds, which was 3.5 times more than that of the “Tenth Five-Year Plan”. 21 large-scale mineral deposits were discovered, with an additional 8.98 billion tons of coal resources, 143 million tons of bauxite resources and 878 million tons of phosphate rock resources.

In 2010, 11 large-scale ore-producing areas were discovered in Guizhou, and 882 million tons of phosphate mineral resources were detected in the deep waters of the Kaiyang Yangshui Mining Area, which refreshed the maximum record of the amount of phosphate rock resources in a single mining area. This is equivalent to recreating a Kaiyang phosphate rock. .

Zhu Lijun, Director of the Department of Land and Resources of Guizhou Province, said that in the first three years of the 12th Five-Year Plan, Guizhou should conduct basic geological survey and evaluation, metallogenic geological conditions and prospecting targets, and study the advantages of minerals (bauxite, manganese ore, coal, phosphorus). Major achievements have been made in the prospecting of minerals, gold ore, vanadium, etc., and major discoveries have been made in basic geological studies within five years; there have been major innovations in regional metallogenic laws and metallogenic theories; there have been major breakthroughs in exploration techniques and methods; There has been a major breakthrough in deep prospecting and crisis mine prospecting; there have been major breakthroughs in Guizhou’s advantageous mineral resources and national urgently needed mineral prospecting. Guizhou will gradually form a new base of large-scale energy and raw material resources and significantly enhance its support capabilities.
